A long-time prior, in Auckland, Professor Mohammad Rais Alvi had a vision of bringing communities together. The idea of creating a dynamic organisation Sangam, to create bridges between the national and international communities through literature, education culture and services for communities , without any discrimination of class,caste, colour, race and religion.He believes literature is one of the strongest mediums to climb the ladder of communion. Magazine is one of the streets which takes a person to travel the world and experience the amazing literature of our roots. It would also help us understand the culture and integrate like in a salad bowl while preserving our roots, culture and identity.The understanding of language and literature from diverse countries will enhance cooperation ,communication and coordination amongst the communities.
As the paper reading has been diminishing Mr. Adnan Mirza’s intervention with most sophisticated tools of the modern world will be the baseline of our magazine.
A bunch of migrants have begun a small magazine committed to fiction and verse. It’s to begin with beautiful pieces of writings by our writers.This magazine has also been the dream of famous Hindi writer Preeta Vyas, one she is certainly living now. From myself, I always love reading and writing in all the languages I can. Literature from around the world is like a window to see outside, the beautiful scenery, amazing people and great cultures.
We trust that you, just like us, can discover a minute to step back, breathe, and appreciate this.
